More than 100 individuals attended the Fall Transitioning Youth Resource Fair on November 8, 2025, at Largo High School, co-hosted by Prince George’s County Public Schools and the Prince George’s Provider Council. The event brought together families, students, and community partners for an important day of connection, information sharing, and future planning.

Families play a critical and lifelong role in supporting their child with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Recognizing this, the Fair was designed to connect families to a comprehensive network of services that can help youth build meaningful, successful lives both during their school years and long after graduation.

More than 60 organizations participated, offering guidance and resources to help families:

  • Learn about community organizations, including employment support agencies, benefits specialists, advocacy groups, provider agencies, community resources, and local community colleges.

  • Access supports that will help students build a successful life during and after high school.

  • Explore employment and vocational training opportunities.

  • Navigate adult living options, educational pathways, accommodations, and other specialized services.

Presentations were also provided by Atlantic Union Bank on Estate Planning; ABLE Accounts, and Arc Prince George’s County on their Benefits Enrollment Center.

By distributing vital information and offering direct access to experts, the Fair empowered families with the knowledge and tools needed to support their youth as they transition from high school into adulthood. The event strengthened families’ ability to promote independence, self-sufficiency, and community inclusion for their children.

A special thank you to Atlantic Union Bank for generously sponsoring this year’s event and helping make the Fair a success.
