Providers want to ensure that people with intellectual and developmental disabilities residing and working in Prince George’s County have the support system they need to be successful and to lead a meaningful life. We advocate on behalf of those we serve by working in partnership with our state and county officials to establish legislative priorities that support our community.
The Prince George’s County Council is committed to increasing services that will address the needs of residents in the community including programs to assist seniors, programs to assist low-income residents meet their basic needs, as well as programs to assist residents with disabilities. The Prince George’s County Council connects residents to important County services, resources, and information as well as helping to address constituent and community concerns.
The Maryland General Assembly is the state legislature of the state of Maryland that convenes within the State House in Annapolis. It is a bicameral body: the upper chamber, the Maryland Senate, has 47 representatives, and the lower chamber, the Maryland House of Delegates, has 141 representatives. Members of both houses serve four-year terms.
